Hiring History House
History House, home of the Royal Australian Historical Society, is one of the last few remaining Victorian terraces in Sydney’s bustling Macquarie Street. Overlooking Sydney’s beautiful Royal Botanic Gardens, History House offers competitive rates, is perfect for functions, cocktail evenings, meetings, launches, lectures and features:
- A fifty-seat air-conditioned auditorium equipped with ceiling mounted digital projector and fixed screen, laptop computer with Internet access, lectern and wireless microphone.
- Two adjoining reception rooms are a reflection of the Victorian era and feature ornate joinery of Australian cedar and mahogany, and wood parquetry made from a dozen species of Australian timber. These rooms are air-conditioned, able to accommodate up to 60 people, and are elegantly furnished with period furniture, prints, chandeliers and a grand piano.
- A fully equipped kitchen is located between the auditorium and the reception rooms. People/organisations are welcome to arrange their own commercial caterer or self-cater as desired.
- Disability access is via Phillip Lane at the rear of History House. There is a disabled toilet on the basement level and lift access to the auditorium and reception rooms. Please contact us for more information.
