We would like to welcome all our new 2016 members, a number of who gathered at History House on Wednesday evening to enjoy refreshments in the Reception Rooms followed by a library tour. President Carol Liston gave an informal speech on the way in which membership with the RAHS connects our new members to a community with a wide-range of historical interests. Carol also gave an overview of History House. As well as the headquarters of the RAHS and home to the RAHS Library Collections, it is a space that members should consider as their history place.
With that in mind, it is very timely that the Society has updated its pages on the History House Project. It contains information on the project, its current status and latest news on our fundraising efforts. The new pages also contain historical information on the building and the people associated with it, with more resources to be added in upcoming weeks. We would like to thank all our members and friends for their continuing generous donations to support this initiative that is critical for the ongoing viability of the Society and its goal of promoting Australian history.
