SLNSW Family History Next Steps

The State Library of New South Wales is hosting an educational seminar on family history research and the sources you can access through the State Library’s unique collections.

The seminar is part of the Library’s Launch into Library Research series and is targeted at experienced family history researchers who want to learn how to take the next steps in their family research.

Participants will enjoy a number of informative and engaging sessions on topics such as:

  • Uncovering your convict ancestor’s story;
  • Tracing military ancestors from the time of European settlement (British regiments) to later conflicts involving Australian armed forces;
  • Using electoral roles, sands and other directories to locate your ancestor at a specific time and place;
  • Practical tips and strategies on how to organise your family research
  • A tour of the Family History Area; and
  • Opportunities to view resources and original material related to in other sessions.
