A message from Douglas Vale Historic Homestead and Vineyard:
A gala fundraising premiere performance of the play John Oxley’s Journey to Port Macquarie will be staged at Douglas Vale Historic Homestead and Vineyard on Sunday 14 October 2018.
The play relates the story of the brave party who travelled from Bathurst to Port Macquarie and then back to Sydney and is based on the book, I Went with John Oxley by local author, Richard Grimmond.
The performance will be followed by light refreshments, with the opportunity to taste a special Heritage Port. The unique John Oxley 200th Anniversary Explorers Red Wine will be released and bottles will be available to purchase on the evening.
