This section is devoted to providing an overview of History House Project fundraising events held so far, with links to further details on the event and the project in general.
The Society hosted a Champagne Supper from 4.30pm to 7.00pm at History House on Friday 10th of July. The event was to raise funds for the refurbishment of History House. As well as enjoying the champagne and food, members and friends listened to Phillip Black, Chair of the History House Committee, speak of the future plans for the building. Those who attended had the opportunity to look at the building extension design sketches that incorporate increased space to members, volunteers and staff, including space for digital media initiatives, to improve disability access, to provide a roof-top area for teaching and a breakout area, and to urgently replace the old elevator. As the refurbishment will be at the rear of History House, it will not alter the magnificent visage of the front of our beautiful heritage building.
The Society would like to thank everyone who contributed to the success of the event. An anonymous donor provided the champagne. Many members who could not attend the event made a donation to the History House Project. The event and donations raised $7500, so the event was both a social and financial success.
Thank you to the members who were unable to attend on the night but donated to the History House Project.
