The Royal Australian Historical Society in conjunction with the UNESCO Australian Memory of the World (AMOW) Committee present: Documentary Heritage and the Australian Memory of the World Register
This seminar will include a keynote address by the Mitchell Librarian, Richard Neville, who will discuss Miles Franklin’s last private diary, which is now held at the State Library of NSW. Other speakers and topics include:
- Dr Roslyn Russell (Chair, UNESCO AMOW Committee) – the process of nominating items of documentary heritage for inscription on the AMOW Register
- Nyree Morrison (University of Sydney Archives) – the inscription of the Anthropological Field Research and Teaching Records, University of Sydney, 1926–56 into the AMOW Register
As part of the seminar participants will receive a copy of The Australian Register: UNESCO Memory of the World Program edited by Roslyn Russell and Anne-Marie Condé. This beautifully illustrated book was published in 2015 to celebrate the first 50 inscriptions on the UNESCO Australian Memory of the World Register.
