Orange Regional Seminar – Looking to the Future and Discovering the Past

In conjunction with Central West Libraries

The Royal Australian Historical Society, in conjunction with Central West Libraries, invites you to join us for an exciting regional seminar in Orange.

The seminar will appeal to anyone who wishes to learn more about historical records for the study of local history, including land title research, discovering the secrets cemeteries can reveal, and improving your research using Trove (the National Library of Australia’s free online database).

Ticket price includes a catered morning tea and lunch.


Speakers/ Topics:

  • RAHS President Christine Yeats will discuss land title research and the new HLRV website, and will also provide research tips and strategies for searching Trove’s Newspapers, Gazettes, Journals, Diaries, Letters and Maps.
  • RAHS Councillor Judith Dunn will discuss the ways that cemeteries can encapsulate and reflect the local area, and how they can be used as a source for studying the local history of an area.
