The Lane Cove History Prize is open for 2022, after a year in abeyance because of the lockdown in 2021. We warmly encourage all local historians to make this a good year for the prize, pursuing any of a number of potential themes, to do with persons, places or community groups. Make this a year for opening up possibilities in researching entries, whether written, oral or visual in some aspect of Lane Cove and its environs.
In 2022 entrants are asked to submit EITHER:
- An essay (illustrated where appropriate) of 5,000 to 7,000 word.
OR
- An oral history produced digitally as a video or audio recording on USB stick or disc 30-45 minutes duration. This must be accompanied by a written transcription (in Microsoft Word format). The interview must also be accompanied by a short written summary and an explanation about why it makes a significant contribution to our understanding of Lane Cove’s history.
OR
- A video documentary of 7 to 15 minutes.
Closing date for submissions: 5pm Tuesday 31 August 2022
Prize: The winner will receive $1,000
