Applications are now open for the 2018 Transport Heritage Grants Program. This grant program is a NSW Government funded initiative, administered by the Royal Australian Historical Society (RAHS), and supported by Transport Heritage NSW (THNSW). The grants program aims to help the NSW community rediscover the culture, events and the people that shaped transport in NSW over the past 160 years, and also support the restoration and conservation of our valuable heritage assets. It runs on an annual basis to assist eligible organisations and individuals with rail, tram and bus based heritage activities.

Applications close on Tuesday 7 August 2018. Some wonderful projects from the 2017 grant round included the Sydney Tramway Museum’s restoration of a Sydney Trolleybus (#19), Zig Zag Railway’s preservation of Cooerwull Railway Footbridge and  Shoalhaven Historical Society’s publication, Going South: The Kiama to Bomaderry Railway. The full list of 2017 grant recipients, including 201516 are available to view online.
