Insurance cover for Public Liability and Personal Accident / Voluntary Workers is available for societies affiliated with the Royal Australian Historical Society. After joining the RAHS, new affiliates will receive insurance forms which can be used to join the RAHS Insurance Scheme. These group policies run from 4pm on 21 April each year. Public Liability / Product Liability [currently with CGU Insurance Ltd] covers injury to members of the public (third party) and damage to third party property arising from the activities of the insured society. Cover can be for either $10,000,000 or $20,000,000. The policy excludes injury to volunteer workers of the society. Personal Accident / Voluntary Workers [currently with Chubb Insurance Co. Ltd Australia] cover injury to any voluntary worker for the Insured. Cover includes Death and Capital Benefits $100,000 - Weekly injury $200 per week, Benefit Period (104 weeks) & Elimination Period 7 days. There is no Permanent Total Disablement (PTD) cover provided. Age Limit: 10 - 85 years Volunteers between 86 and 95 years can be covered for a small additional fee. Some limits to cover apply and only 5 members in this age group are covered for each insuring society. NOTE: Note the Voluntary Workers Policy is not a Private Health Cover. It provides specific benefits in the event of an injury sustained whilst acting as a Volunteer for the Society. The weekly injury benefit only applies if there is a loss of income as a result of an injury sustained whilst acting as a Volunteer for the society. NOTE: Full details of cover for both policies are available once the society wishing to insure become RAHS members. |
